June Top Techie Teacher - Shirley Turner

Congratulations to Mrs. Turner for being our Top Techie Teacher for the month of June.  Mrs. Turner, a 5^th grade teacher from Clarksville Elementary School is an exemplary example of a technology savvy teacher.  Her students enjoy learning through the weekly use of laptops in their classroom.  These laptops aid them in creating PowerPoint presentations on biographies, as well as, learn through various resources on the Internet, such as SOL Pass.  She said, "Students are thrilled to see and present their finished project using the Smartboard and its essentials."  Mrs. Turner works to create an environment full of technology and creativity.  Although the mobile lab is one of their favorites, students enjoy working with more than just the laptops when they are in Mrs. Turner's room.  How many of your students would love to compete against their classmates in baseball, fast track, and soccer?  Mrs. Turner's students hold regular team competitions as they punch in their remote response using the Quizdom Interact student response system.  They use the Smartboard to build a solid foundation of knowledge in all content areas.  United Streaming movies are viewed to reinforce concepts.  All of these resources help students prepare for biweekly and SOL testing.  This is a classroom that is fully integrated with technology!  We thank you, Mrs. Turner, for all of your inspiring uses of technology to stimulate young minds!
