Top Technology Teacher - Mrs. Casey Jackson!

 Casey Jackson is the Top Technology Teacher for the month of April.   Mrs. Jackson is a 4^th grade teacher at Buckhorn Elementary.    Through the use of the SMARTboard, Brain Pop, digital camcorders, and Eggspert, Mrs. Jackson seamlessly integrates technology into her curriculum.  Mrs. Jackson uses interactive lessons she downloaded from SMART Tech for her students to practice and review concepts she has taught.  Students executed Math SOL 4.13 skills by measuring objects and calculating their perimeter all on the SMART board.  The students in Mrs. Jackson’s class are learning 21^st Century skills that will prepare them as they continue their educational journeys and beyond.Students in Mrs. Jackson’s class are excited about learning while using technological tools.  The students were beaming as they discussed using digital video and still cameras to complete a reading project assigned by Mrs. Jackson.  The students used role play to act out the story “The Paper Bag Princess” as they demonstrated reading comprehension skills.  The students were very animated as they described acting out their roles for other classes at Buckhorn.  Using technology to enhance this project provided Mrs. Jackson’s students with an experience they will not soon forget! Congratulations to Mrs. Jackson!  Her dedication to teaching and learning are apparent in a classroom full of excited learners!
