first responder training

Students from Mecklenburg County High School’s Public Safety Program traded the classroom for the training ground at the Mecklenburg-Brunswick Fire Training Center.

The immersive day began with a live fire demonstration, where students observed firefighters executing forcible entry and fire suppression tactics. By utilizing thermal imaging cameras alongside visual observation, students gained a sophisticated understanding of fire development and the technology used to combat it.

The training shifted gears to vehicle extrication, where students assisted with basic techniques. This hands-on session highlighted the critical tools, physics, and seamless teamwork required to safely rescue patients from wreckage.

We extend a sincere thank you to Mecklenburg County Emergency Services and the South Hill Fire Department for investing in our students and providing this invaluable real-world experience.
