Arrival and breakfast end at 7:40 a.m., and all students should be in the building by then. By 7:45 a.m., students should be seated in their first block as the tardy bell rings and the Phoenix 5 Morning Show begins.
We also want to remind families about important forms that were recently sent home.
Students in grades 9 through 11 received course registration forms for next school year, along with transportation and census forms. Please review them carefully, make any needed changes, and send them back with your student.
Students in grades 11 and 12 received a military opt-out form that must be reviewed and signed.
All forms are due by Friday, April 3. Let’s make sure everything is completed and turned in on time.

We look forward to recognizing the Class of 2026!

We would like to thank Avery Layne and Sarah Dejarnette for providing our class with the opportunity to be involved in this project.

Our Geometry students wrapped up their Quadrilateral unit with a hands-on paper folding activity! 📄✂️ By folding and analyzing paper shapes, students explored the properties of parallelograms, squares, rhombi, rectangles, and trapezoids in a fun, tactile way.
This activity allowed students to discover the properties themselves and included a rreview of interior and exterior polygon angle sum formulas to prepare for their upcoming unit test and SOL test! 🧠✨

Mrs. Mull and Mrs. Bevell are so proud of our nurse aide students during their clinical rotation with our amazing community partner, Chase City Health and Rehab. Each student completes 40 hours of hands-on clinical skills to finish the program—building confidence, compassion, and real-world experience.
Phoenix CNAs in the making! 🔥
💡 Did you know? The demand for Nurse Aides is projected to grow about 4% over the next decade, with hundreds of thousands of openings each year due to our aging population and increasing healthcare needs. The future is bright—and needed—for these students!

Wednesday May 20 2026

Today in Mrs. Mull's Intro to Health and Medical Sciences class, students learned about vital signs—learning not just how to take them, but the science behind what they mean.
Students practiced checking pulse and blood pressure, building real clinical skills they’ll use in future healthcare settings. To bring it all to life, they measured their vitals at rest, then headed outside for some exercise before rechecking and comparing their pre- and post-activity results.
This real-world experience helped students see firsthand how the body responds to physical activity—and why vital signs are such an important tool in patient care.
Future healthcare professionals in the making!

Today, Mrs Phelps's students took their learning outside the classroom and into the real world! While staking out the dimensions of a shed, they applied the Pythagorean Theorem to ensure the diagonals were congruent and the corners formed perfect right angles.
By measuring carefully and checking their work, students saw firsthand how geometry is used in construction and design every day. Hands-on learning like this helps bring math to life and builds problem-solving skills that extend far beyond the classroom!
Great job to our students for applying what they’ve learned and working together to make math meaningful! 👏📏
