TRANSPORTATION UPDATE: This afternoon’s bus coverage

Due to the continuing bus driver shortage, we are doing our best to provide coverage with the drivers we currently have available. We greatly appreciate the drivers who are able and willing to complete their own routes and then double back to assist with another load.

• Bus 114 (complex) — covered by Bus 131 after his complex route. Expected return to the complex: 4:15–4:20 p.m.
• Bus 114 (elementary) — covered by Bus 41 after her elementary route. Should not be much later than normal.
• Bus 21 (complex) — covered by Bus 125 after his complex route. Expected return to the complex: about 4:00 p.m.
• Bus 21 (elementary) — covered by a complex driver. Should be close to regular time.
• Bus 16 — covered by Bus 39. If all students fit, he will transport them together. If not, he will return to the complex for them after completing his complex route.

We apologize for any inconvenience and sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to cover as many routes as possible.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: School Cash Online will be temporarily unavailable beginning Monday, September 14, for approximately 10 to 12 business days.

During this period, all school collections will be cash only, including admission to middle and high school athletic events, field trip fees, fundraisers, club and team dues, activity fees, yearbooks and other school payments.

Please plan ahead by completing online payments before September 14. When sending cash to school, place it in a clearly labeled envelope. Families attending athletic events should bring cash to the gate, and exact change is appreciated.

School Cash Online is expected to return in late September. Please watch for updates from your school or contact the school’s front office with questions.

*UPDATE* Open House for MCMS is August 5, 2026 from 12PM - 6PM. We will have two sessions of our 6th Grade Orientation. They will be held at 12PM and 5PM in the Phoenix Auditorium. Class schedules will be given out at Open House. We are so excited to see everyone!

We are looking for an Athletic Trainer! Our perfect person could be YOU or someone YOU KNOW!

Sometimes the most important people in a school district are not the ones standing at the podium. They are the ones who quietly spent decades shaping lives one student, one classroom, one conversation at a time.

Last night, Mecklenburg County Public Schools paused to celebrate the people who helped build the story of this division.

The teachers.
The mentors.
The steady voices.
The familiar faces students counted on year after year.

Careers ended. Legacies did not.

Thank you for the years.
Thank you for the sacrifices.
Thank you for the impact that will continue long after retirement.

This morning, a middle/high school bus traveling on Route 58 near the Complex area was involved in a minor accident. Emergency responders arrived promptly and evaluated the situation.

We are thankful to report that all students are safe and no injuries were reported. The bus sustained only slight damage, and students were transported safely to school.

We appreciate the quick response of EMS and staff for helping ensure the safety and well-being of our students.
