Today we proudly recognize and celebrate the incredible School Resource Officers who serve and protect our students and staff at Mecklenburg County High School — Sergeant King, Corporal Duncan, and Officer White.
These three go far beyond the badge. They build relationships, mentor students, ensure safety, and are a steady, positive presence in our hallways every single day. Whether they’re supporting school events, assisting in times of need, or simply greeting students with a smile, their impact reaches far beyond campus security.
Sergeant King, Corporal Duncan, and Officer White represent professionalism, compassion, and commitment to our Phoenix family. We are grateful for the time they invest, the trust they build, and the care they show toward our school community.
Please join us in thanking them for their dedication and service to Mecklenburg County High School! ❤️🖤🤍

Phoenix Store
On Friday, January 23, the Phoenix Indoor Track team participated in the Fred Hardy Indoor Track Invitational held at Fork Union Military Academy against approximately 20 other teams from around central Virginia! Fortunately, our team earned 11 medals overall, which included 10 Personal Records and an overall 6th place team finish for the Phoenix Girls!

Earning medals were:
Madison Oliver - 5th place in the 55m, 3rd place in the high jump, and 2nd place in the 300m
Abby Mox - 4th place in the 1600m
Mariah Parker - 6th place in the 300m
Natalie Adams - 4th place in the 3200m
Lillian Beatty - 5th place in the 3200m
Tamon Mayo - 4th place triple jump and 6th place 300m
Our boys 4x200 team finished in 3rd place with a time of 1:42.94 and was run by Devin Taylor, Adrian Johnson, Isaiah Osborne, and Tamon Mayo.
Our girls 4x400 team also finished 3rd with a PR time of 5:03.72 and was run by Kenya Watts, Taylor Sterling, Nia Price, and Abby Mox.

We are so proud of this team for remaining dedicated and giving 100% effort during practice! Indoor track season is tough because we have to battle cold temperatures, an inconsistent practice schedule, and being flexible with finding workout space. We are grateful to the athletic department, administration, and parents for always supporting us whole-heartedly and recognizing this hardworking team of athletes!

Sincerely,
Coach Beatty and Coach McQuain
