TRANSPORTATION UPDATE: This afternoon’s bus coverage
Due to the continuing bus driver shortage, we are doing our best to provide coverage with the drivers we currently have available. We greatly appreciate the drivers who are able and willing to complete their own routes and then double back to assist with another load.
• Bus 114 (complex) — covered by Bus 131 after his complex route. Expected return to the complex: 4:15–4:20 p.m.
• Bus 114 (elementary) — covered by Bus 41 after her elementary route. Should not be much later than normal.
• Bus 21 (complex) — covered by Bus 125 after his complex route. Expected return to the complex: about 4:00 p.m.
• Bus 21 (elementary) — covered by a complex driver. Should be close to regular time.
• Bus 16 — covered by Bus 39. If all students fit, he will transport them together. If not, he will return to the complex for them after completing his complex route.

On September 25, 2026, Chase City Elementary will honor Dolly Parton and her commitment to literacy with a spirit day. Each grade level will wear a specific color to create a schoolwide “Coat of Many Colors”.
You are invited to get involved and join the PTA!!! First meeting of the year will be held September 2nd at 6:00 PM in the cafeteria.
August School Market will be this Wednesday (the 26th) from 4:15-5:45 (or until we run out). Remember this is a first come first serve event and it's open only to CCES families that have a student currently enrolled in our school. Please do not park in the parking lot until 4:15 due to our dismissal schedule.

Tomorrow our students will be taking their VA Studies and Science SOLs. No guests are allowed in the building while the test is in session.
This morning, a middle/high school bus traveling on Route 58 near the Complex area was involved in a minor accident. Emergency responders arrived promptly and evaluated the situation.
We are thankful to report that all students are safe and no injuries were reported. The bus sustained only slight damage, and students were transported safely to school.
We appreciate the quick response of EMS and staff for helping ensure the safety and well-being of our students.

Friday Night Lights on the Fairway Team Registration
Registration is now open for the “Friday Night Lights on the Fairway” Golf Tournament supporting Mecklenburg County High School Football. The tournament will feature a 4-player scramble, tons of giveaways, and lunch catered by Hutch Smoking Grill BBQ & Catering. Gather your team and join us on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at Kinderton Country Club in Clarksville, VA for a great day supporting Phoenix Football.
Friday Night Lights on the Fairway Sponsorship Opportunities
Support Mecklenburg County High School Football by becoming a sponsor for the “Friday Night Lights on the Fairway” Golf Tournament on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at Kinderton Country Club in Clarksville, VA. Sponsorship opportunities include Gold, Silver, and Hole Sponsor levels, with benefits such as business recognition, signage placement, social media promotion, and community visibility while supporting Phoenix Football.
